Vibration Solutions North awarded contract with Pratt & Whitney

Vibration Solutions North (VSN) a close affiliate of Moscow Mills inc has been awarded a contract to provide critical balance tooling for the new PW1000G geared turbofan engine. This new technology developed by Pratt & Whitney promises to propel Pratt & Whitney into a strong position in the market with anticipated fuel savings of 12% and a decrease in noise by 20db.

The system, dubbed “Boat Trap” uses ballistic nets dropped from aircraft to ensnare and stop small boats without using lethal force. The Boat Trap has been extensively tested in both U.S. waters and in the Caribbean. It is currently being deployed on a limited basis by U.S. government agencies.
